Readmitted to a failed program?

In your graduate admissions endeavors have you come across individuals who during their graduate academic experience struggled academically (failed) left the institution they were attending before they might be asked to leave, reapplied to that the same institution, and obtain the graduate degree?

I have never come across such an experience, but that's not surprising. Most folks who do fail don't have the heart to return. But if you'd like to, have a good reason as to your previous failure, and can PROVE in some useful way that you are more academically qualified now (preferably through consistent success at another another institution), you may well have a case.
